Oct 08, 2015Netgear needs to contact TimeWarner Cable ISP - C6300 Firmware update Needed
TimeWarner Cable ISP has not provided any firmware updates for the C6300 modem/router device in over a year. The fixes Netgear has been providing, including NAT Loopback, security, USB Readyshare enhancements, and other features are not getting to their customers. TimeWarner states that v1.02.19 is still the current version, and is unaware of any further updates. PLEASE NETGEAR MAKE A PHONE CALL TO TWC AND GET YOUR UPDATES ROLLED OUT TO THE CUSTOMER.

The last firmware that NetGear has approved through our engineering team was V1.02.19. NetGear and other modem manufacturers may continue to release firmware updates, but those need to be submitted to our engineering team for testing before they become available to customers. When NetGear submits their latest firmware, we can begin the testing and validation process.
Thank you.

Has anything more been done by Netgear to present this firmware upgrade to Time Warner? Each side is putting responsibility on the other, and it appears that nothing has been done. Can you please advise?

my cmd31t keeps disconnecting from the internet. I called time warner in regards to firmware update but they where clueless. Is there a way to get the firmware from you and upload it to the modem?

Hello Tchavez3
All firmware is pushed out by the ISP on cable modems. But if you are having constant disconnects check your cables also if you have a cable splitter try removing that and connect the modem directly to the wall. If the problem persists you may want to contact TWC and have them send a tech out to check your lines.

Can someone from Netgear provide the latest firmware update version for the C6300 for Brighthouse Networks ISP? My current version isn't listed in the Netgear Modem Matrix, and the version listed in the matrix looks to be newer. According to Brighthouse tech I have the latest version V1.02.20; the new one listed is V1.02.21, or maybe V2.01.14. Not sure since Brighthouse isn't listed, and don't know if they are part of TWC or Charter? My modem is working OK, but I want to insure I have the latest updates for any fixes, speed issues and security updates. Also, do they push automatically after received from Netgear, or do they do so at their discretion? Thanks.

Hello MikeModem
All firmware is pushed out by the cable ISP we send all firmware to them first they certify it and make changes they see fit then push it out to all of there customers. So you can not update the firmware manually. If they say they have a newer firmware have them try to send signals to the modem and a reboot it should sync up and get the latest firmware. But if you are not having any issues with your modem I wouldn't worry about the firmware to much 1.02.20 to 1.02.21 sounds like a really small change.

Hello jgsinton
I would contact TWC and ask for there Level 3 support as the modem does not have the latest firmware the latest is V2.01.14 ask if they can send some hits and reboots to the modem to push the latest firmware to the modem.
