Upgrade to new router from C-3000 modem/router
I am considering upgrading to a newer Netgear router from my current C-3000 modem/router on Comcast service, which works fine, but has a great deal of buffering on wi-fi online ROKU (not cable) TV service. If I upgrade to new Netgear router alone, do I also need some kind of modem for wi-fi service to my computer, TV and cell phone service that I now have use of?
Since you are using a C3000 you will need to buy a combo unit which has a modem built in so any netgear product with a C# would be what you want.

Thanks, DarrenM! After posting my issue, I read the online documentation for my existing modem/router and, it appears, I can disable the router function, keeping the modem function and connect a new Netgear router to the existing modem/router (with the router function disabled). Your suggestion seems a better plan - simply buy a new Netgear combo unit with a C#. Thanks for clarifying that for me (and, hopefully, for any other Netgear user who is looking to upgrade for better performance.)
