Cat cable
Hi, I am curious on what type of Cat cable comes with the Powerline Adaptor 1200? For instance is it a CAT5/CAT5E or a Cat6 cable. I tried to find out and nowhere on the box or anybody in support has asked or answered this question. Just woundering because I have Gigabit connection through verizon and I have the eithernet cables that came with it each connected to a powerline adaptor. For more in depth notes I have the cable that came with it conecting the router to the first powerline and then have the second eithernet going from the second powerline to my eithernet Gigabit switch. I then have a 3 Cat 6 cables going from the switch to my PC my Xbox and then my PS4. I went to test my internet speed with just the PC on nothing else in the house but I am only getting about 46-50 Mbps when I should be getting more then that. thats why I am woundering what type of cable with it and if that is what is holding back my speed

- It's probably a Cat5e cable. Even a Cat5 can handle Gigabit at short distances. You can always check the link speed on your PC.
Powerline is notoriously sensitive to electrical noise on the AC lines. A nearby refrigerator, washer or dryer can wreak havoc on speeds.
I would temporarily connect the PC directly to the router and run a speedtest. This will help you determine whether Powerline is the culprit. - AustynRoxAspirant
I'm sure it is probably the wire connecting the 2nd powerline to the eithernet switch. because before I had the switch and had just a Cat6 going from the powerline to my PC i was getting decient internet usage. I'm hoping the Powerline isn't the issue its my only hope of getting hardwire connection to my room
