Hello-- I have had several of the older v1 of the Powerlines with no issues for years. I just bought the nano v2 and I'm having trouble with one that keeps losing its connection and I have to keep resetting it to factory default to get it to work again. I want to upgrade the firmware to see if that fixes the issue, and I've downloaded the current firmware, but I can't find any directions for upgrading the firmware. If there is a utility, I can't find one for my model. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Stephen

Hmm. When I posted this it asked me. I guess it wasn't posted.It's the Powerline XAVB5200v2, I believe. I'm not where I can check right now. Definitely the 500 series.

What said was that you "think" it is a XAVB5200v2. As there appears to be no such thing as the XAVB5200v2 – I checked before I replied – I told you where to find the correct information. It is a bit blurry but you can still see the bit by the Adapter label. Or try this: I asked for the model number because when you have the correct information you can throw it into this page: Support | NETGEAR and then find the manual, which should provide you with the information you need. You will also find the powerline utility. Perhaps this is what you have: XAV2101v2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR

Yes, that is the model I'm trying to upgrade because I now have to reset it to factory default every time I try to use the computer it's connected to, and it's very frustrating because it's new.

The back of the unit says XAVB5201v2

  Can you switch plugs around to see if this is down to the plug, its location or something else?

    Thanks, but I have done all the typical layer 1 troubleshooting. It is the unit itself. I would like to try to install the firmware regardless of whether there is a new version or not as it is the last effort I'm going to make before returning them.
