PLP2000 Problems

Hello. I have a Powerline 2000 with the extra outlet and I have been running into problems with it. I originally got it working and it was pretty smooth the first week I got it, but then things went downhill. The bitrate on the connection with the powerline dropped drastically, but over wifi I was able to get double sometimes triple the speed over the powerline. The powerline then became an inconsistent use for internet as it wasn't connecting to the internet. I am attempting to get it up and running again and trying to understand it better so I can fix it whenever I run into certain situations. I plugged it back in about 10 minutes ago, all lights are green on both powerlines, but I can't connect to the "Unientified network" and it seems to have no Internet. I troubleshooted the network to see what was going on and it says "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. (If there are ways to update firmware on the powerlines can someone tell me how? I don't know much about these :( sorry)

That sounds like a Windows issue rather than anything to do with the Powerline plug.

Plugs do not have an IP address, only the things that you connevct to them.

Hello. I just tried plugging in the Ethernet cable that I had plugged into my desktop, into my laptop and I ran into the same issue. I also swapped the ports on the modem to make sure it wasn't a broken port, and everything is fine. The issue doesn't seem to be windows, it seems to be the Netgear Powerline.

I don't see how you can reach that conclusion.

You disconnect one Windows PC from the network and replace it with another one and you see the same message.

It might help if you said what else is on the network, the modem for example.
