XAV101 not passing iTunes Sharing
I really like the speed of my Powerline network but the XAV101s are not allowing iTunes sharing. I have my iTunes Library on my iMac office computer and try to stream iTunes to my MacBook laptop in the den...When I am in wireless mode the wireless network allows this (but the connection is poor thus the Powerline) when I switch to the Powerline the shared Library disappears from iTunes.
Of course, the XAV101 utility for some reason won't launch in Snow Leopard and the XAV101 firmware cant be updated on a Mac as the firmware update aplication is PC only.
Can anyone assist me in how to get iTunes sharing back?

snow leopard is 64bit and they do work with 32bit but I don't think current app is compatible. - richlen2Aspirantyes, but what can I do to get iTunes sharing working?
- jmizoguchiVirtuosowhole scenario is confusing but when mac is wired behind the XAV101, it will not able to stream from the Mac that is behind router?
- richlen2Aspirantare you saying there is no way iTunes streams via Powerline? Can I get someone at Netgear to confirm that...is there an email I can write to with this problem? Anyone else on the forums or other discussion here has this problem? Seems like given the fact many people stream audio via iTunes it would be commonly known but I've done a search and cant find it. Other Internet streaming works great.

Did I question ? did I say somewhere "no way" - SRZARRNoviceI realize this is an old post, but I'm having the same issue. I purchased the XAV101v2 earlier this year and home sharing with itunes doesn't work. Neither computer or appleTV can share itunes music or movies. None of the libraries show up. There are no other network issues except for sharing of libraries. Itunes home sharing works fine wired directly to the router or wirelessly but not through the powerline.
I have 2 PC's on Windows 7 operation system. I downloaded the Netgear utility and verified I have the most recent firmware (2.0.14). Anyone have any thoughts on why this is not working? - SharkusNoviceFrom what I recall, iTunes home sharing will only work on a LAN and not a WAN. I wonder if perhaps iTunes thinks he powerline networking is a WAN rather than a LAN and so disables itself.
I have some adapters coming soon and I will give iTunes home sharing a try when I have them up and running and will report back what I find - SharkusNoviceMe again!
I've just tried Home Sharing in my non-powerline environment, ie; WiFi, with my iMac running iTunes 10.2.1 (OS X 10.6.x) as the "Host" of the Home Sharing setup, and an Acer laptop running iTunes 10.x (not sure exactly what version, 10.2.1 is downloading as I type) and Windows 7. The PC laptop could see and access my Library via Home Sharing, so I know the setup works.
When the powerline adapters turn up I will re-test and post my results.
However, whilst researching things, I found this thread on Apple's support forums. I think the OP is the same on that thread and this one, and the key portion is the last post, which seems to indicate a solution to the issue. The post in question is:
Tracy, I would just like to thank you for your input...I got it to work. If the issue comes up again, here's what I did. I made sure the music library sharing was enabled on BOTH machines as suggested. It still didn't work. So after making those changes I unplugged the two adaptors, hit their reset buttons and voila the library appeared on m laptop.
These are REALLY FAST....much faster than wifi. My itunes library which takes several minutes to load over wifi took about 3 seconds. Thank you for all your help it is greatly appreciated.
So perhaps a reset on the powerline adapters is all that is needed? - SRZARRNoviceSharkus, Thanks for your help. I had seen the same thread on apple as well. I gave the reset a shot, but it didn't seem to work. I will give it another shot. Also previously, I had turned on the powerline adaptor's security in case the would help, but no luck.
So were you able to get your itunes libraries to share with the powerline adaptors? - SharkusNoviceAdapters still in the mail, once they are here I'll run a test and report back what I find.
My two thoughts for things not working are, as said before, iTunes isn't seeing powerline as being a LAN, or, there is some port filtering happening on powerline that is stopping things going through. Not sure if the powerline utility allows you to do this or not, have a feeling the QoS stuff might have something to do with this, but I could be wrong. It's certainly worth firing up the powerline utility app and seeing what, if anything is in the QoS section, or any other section that might have anything to do with port / traffic filtering
