XWN5001 - Lights all work but no wi-fi
Netgear Modem/ Router, D6200, Win7, ISP AT&T. Netgear Powerline kit, XWN5001 / Powerline 500 Range Extender.
Everything was working fine since 2014. Network went down. Phone company caused problem -- nothing wrong with my lines or equipment. Nothing was changed related to my house or in the phone box for my house.
Technician said there was a known problem for main vault in my area. He worked on the problem, and whatever he did got the network up and running.
Now, though, the power line adapter and access point no longer work.
I have reset the sender and receiver several times. Every time the adapters show the LEDs working fine (Green, green, blue, all solid.) The network Genie recognizes the adapter but not the access points. Wi-Fi works in the same room as the modem.
Walls of my house are stucco and plaster. Regular Wi-Fi signal does not penetrate the walls, hence the need for the powerline adapter.
I search through this forum and can't find any entries which match my problem. All help is greatly appreciated. If I can supply more information, please specify. I am willing to try resetting everything again, but is there something I am missing?
Thanks, Jeanne

I didn't use any HTML.

Does this sum up the situation?

Wi-Fi works in the same room as the modem.
If so, what does the "power line adapter and access point no longer work" mean?
Does it mean that the "remote" plug won't work with wired and wireless devices?
When you say "The network Genie recognizes the adapter but not the access points.", which genie is this? Desktop app, Android/iThing?
When you say "Wi-Fi works in the same room as the modem" does that mean the wifi from the XWN5001 powerline access point?
I ask these questions because they can help to pin down the problem. There also seems to be some contradiction if my guesses are correct. If "the power line adapter and access point no longer work" how come the "Wi-Fi works in the same room as the modem"?
You seem to have tried most things. If the powerline access point, the XWN5001, works in one room, then moving it somewhere else on the same mains circuit. Should work. It it doesn't I would look at the mains circuit rather than the plugs. Are you using a fancy, surge suppressing, extension block? (Netgear advises against using any extension block, but most people find that this is too cautious.)
How about a different mains socket somewhere else in the house?
Remember, when you reset the plugs you deleted any settings that you made and the thing will now revert to the passwords on the back of the plug.
