Netgear A6200 Windows 10 - 5 GHZ problems
I have problems with my adapter finding the 5 GHZ signal from my AT&T router. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
I have tried going into Device Manager, Netgear A6200 Properties, Advanced.....but it has nothing under Property that seems to do with selecting both channels (2.4 and 5 GHZ), as a previous post showed.
Please help.
Luis

Netgear engaged in blatant false advertiving. This product does not work on 5 g.
That was my "joke" reply, but I fear it is more true than joke. Browse this board, none of the 6XXX seris work properly.
Get a refund if you can, and NEVER buy NETGEAR again

Hi luisgo98,
1. How far is the adapter from the router?
2. What is the driver version of the adapter?

Hi luisgo98,
We’d greatly appreciate hearing your feedback letting us know if you need further assistance.

Hi James, sorry for not responding earlier. The adapter is in my home office, the router is in the family room. I would say the distance is about 35-40ft.
Sometimes it detects it; sometimes it doesn't.
I'd also tried moving the adapter next to the router and it still can't detect it, so it might not be a distance problem.
Right now it detects the 5ghz signal after a few days that it couldn't.
I also tried to restart the router, computer, etc. and those things don't seem to fix the problem.

Hi luisgo98,
Try to uninstall the adapter. Reinstall it using the standalone driver.

Hi James,
I first uninstalled Netgear Genie from my computer (maybe I shouldn't have?)
Then I downloaded the new driver using the link you provided and installed the one that said "standalone".
Now I don't know how to activate or access my network using the A6200, since I no longer have the Genie to activate it.
The A6200 just has a blinking blue light but no access to 5GHZ.
What did I do wrong and how can I correct it?
I am not very computer savvy so please provide detailed instructions.
Thanks for all your help.
