Not detected and can't enable.
I have tried the A6200 Adapter on 3 different computers (Windows 7, 8 and 8.1) and different USB ports on each and I just cannot get it working. When plugging it in, it gives a long flash then a quick flash of the blue light and then nothing. Using the setup option of the CD I get to the point where the setup asks me to plug in the adapter, I do so, click next, and it says The Adapter Cannot be Found.
So I then tried the standalone setup, which installed successfully, and when I then plug in the adapter windows installs it with the driver and all is good. Until I try to enable it in adapters, where it won't enable. It remains greyed out and disabled. I diagnose it and windows gives me this troubleshooting report: (This is all the information I saw as relevent, please tell me if you think the whole thing would be useful.)
"Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter.

I have tried multiple times with the genie and standalone drivers from both the disk and the latest from the web on all three computers, as well as using the specific windows 8 driver for that platform.
I can only come to the conclusion that the adapter is faulty, however I really hope I am wrong and I can get it working. Any help would be appreciated.
Some other info:
I am an administrator account
I have uninstalled previous versions of genie and the drivers before reinstalling, multiple times.

- Retired_MemberWhat's left to try. Read the post from other users who have same problem. USB devices shouldn't be this difficult to install. If you cannot install it on 3 different PC's I would say it's a bad adapter or a adapter you cannot install which then is useless. Return it!

Usually means bad hardware. - I'm having the same issue. I returned my A6200, bought another one, and am still having the exact same issue. I have tried using both V1.0.0.26-1 and V1.0.0.18 drivers, uninstalling the device from device from device manager + delete driver and uninstalling the netgear genie before each install. I have also installed the latest chipset drivers for my motherboard.

Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter. - Does the same thing on my win7. Installed it on an older desktop running XP and works great.
- sdvpAspirantNew here. I have a similar problem. A6200 works ok when plugged directly into pc, but I need to use an active extension cable and when I do, no networks are detected. Adapter shows up in network and sharing center, but is disabled and cannot enable. I have tried 3 A6200 adapters 2 new and 1 refurbished, same result. I had an A6200 a while back that worked with an active extension cable but dropped it in the ocean so I know they used to work.
The extension cable is new and I have a netgear n900 that works fine with it.
Can anyone suggest a long range usb adapter?
