Jul 27, 2014EX6100 AC750 in Access Point mode - 5GHz not over 156 MBit
Cheers,
I have now extended my network with two of those devices. Both share the same SSID's with the additional WNDAP360 in the 2,4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels.
They work well but I wonder why I cant get above 156 Mbit in the 5 GHz connections.
Thoguh inSSIDer shows 300MBit at 2,4 Ghz, it only shows 150/156 MBit at 5GHz.
I have configured the 5Ghz WLAN to "up to 433 Mbit", however, when reducing to "up to 200 MBit" inSSIDer still shows only 150 Mbit max frequency.
How's that and what can I do. I am the only one using 5Ghz networks in the neighbourhoods. I have configured the 5GHz channels so the should not interfere:
AP1: ch 36
AP2 ch 44
WNDAP360: ch52
Thanks for help.

- storm_2003NovicePlease give us an idea of your network diagram.
Ex.
1. Router-> (wired or wireless?) WNDAP360 -> EX6100
2. Router -> EX6100 -> WNDAP360
Or any other devices involved? - Retired_MemberHello, sorry for the delay and thanks for support.
Cable-modem - Router UTM50 - HP J9450 Switch (a)
(a) WNDAP360 AP Mode
(a) Netgear GS108 (b) - EX6100 (1) AP Mode
(a) Netgear GS108 (c) - EX6100 (2) AP Mode
All Wifi Share the same SSID's.
Other devices (cabled):
(a) PC
(a) Synology NAS
(a) Reelbox
(a) Popcorn C300
(a) Pingulux 1
(a) Pingulux 2
(b) PC
(b) Popcorn A300
(c) PC
In addition, there is a Pingulux 3 at presumably EX6100 (1) via Hamas 2,4 Ghz Transmitter and a Wii via 2,4 Ghz Transmitter at EX6100 (2). - storm_2003NoviceJust for isolation please try to connect the EX6100 directly to the UTM50 and check if inSSIDer shows the same data or turn off all other wireless device just test 1 unit (when no one is using the wireless)
- Retired_MemberHello, I did now disconnect all the access points, took one EX6100 and plugged it into the UTM50.
Again, just 150MBit on the 5GHz network, 300 MBit on the 2,4 GHz network.
Played a bit around with it but no help.
There are really no other 5GHz networks in reach here.
I'd be glad if you'd have an idea for me. - storm_2003NoviceIs it the same thing for WNDAP360 on 5ghz?
- Retired_MemberNo, WNDAP360 at 5GHz is 300 MBit/s.
- storm_2003NovicePlease contact NETGEAR support for them to further check if this is an issue with this model.

Solution:
Log into the access point's setup using your browser (http://www.mywifiext.net is the most likely address, login and password is most likely admin and password).
Go to setup wizard. Make sure you are set to private network and not public network. Finish the setup wizard and try again. You may need to power cycle some stuff.
The AP isolation setting in some models is not listed, you simply have to make sure the device is in private network mode.

Same problem to me, in 5Ghz, my computer show a connection at 150 mbps speed instead of 450 mpbs.
I tried with an other model of my friend (other brand) in the same condition and it work at 450 mbps.
It appears there is a problem with the EX6100.
The NAT options doesn't change nothing to me.

Hi damien_thg,
Which router is connected to the EX6100?
Is your EX6100 updated to latest firmware?
Are you using fastlane? If so, which setup?

Hi,
my ex6100 is connected to the box/router of my provider.
I've done the last firmware update and i don't see the same screen to use fastlane like in your link.
