EX6110 registration

The model above is actually EX6110/AC1200 WiFi range extender but that does not appear in the drop-down list.

Firstly, I can't register the device in order to use the 90 day support. I've registered with this community then, whilst logged in, I go to 'contact us', 'register your product'. After filling in all of the fields required I click on 'register' & get a message saying that  'Email pre-exists in the system, use different email.' (I only have 1 e-mail address).

Secondly, when I try to connect the extender, I have the extender, Sky router, this PC & a WiFi connected laptop all within arms reach. WPS does not work, when I use my laptop & click on the WiFi symbol in the system tray NETGEAR_EXT is not listed.

Any advice?

This sounds like someone else registered the extender.  Was it purchased used (or open box)?

If it was just purchased, perhaps exchange it.

Did you try doing a factory reset, and boot it up without pressing WPS?  Then look for the extender network, and perhaps try setting up the extender using the web interface.

I don't think it has been registered, why would that have been done using my e-mail address? It came sealed in it's box from a major UK company (Argos).

I tried the reset using the recessed button on the side, no difference.

Log into my.netgear.com, and see if the 6110 is listed in your registered product list.  If it isn't, then try using the "register a product" link on https://www.netgear.com/mynetgear/portal/myProducts.aspx

I am wondering if you were trying to create a new account before.

StephenB, Blame Netgear (again) for some **** design - untested, just "looks good" on large displays. A standard captive portal pop-up on Windows Edge (fixed size!) does perfectly hide the "Alrewady have an accout? [Sign in]":

I don't know on how UI designers work that careless - appears they have sometimes no idea what happens under some conditions. Again johngm - on such consumer stuff, here it goes the market trust in Netgear as a vendor.

A discussion with Netgear support determined that my wifi extender was faulty. I now have a replacement & support ran through the installation with me to make sure it went OK this time, it now works perfectly. I have to say that Netgear support were very proactive & helpful in sorting this out.
