Netgear WG602v4
I am to configure the device as an end point. The problem is when I go to attach to a network it wants me to specify the country. Well the country setting is grayed out, and I can't connect without it being populated. Is there a patch to fix this?

Contact support at my.netgear.com and tell support
Sending email to that email address returns undelivered. Does any one have a working email address for netgear support ? - jmizoguchiVirtuosoMy.netgear.com is WEBSITE not email
- PenryAspirantThe owner has contacted support, and has a case reference, in theory they should get back to him by the end of tomorrow.
- BadWapAspirantI tried going through support, but since my unit is refurbished they will not support it. If anyone finds a fix please let me know.
- PenryAspirantThe owner has had his first response from support, it states
"I understand that you are getting the Region as USA on the configuration page of WG602v4." .. .. "Regarding the concern, please reset the device to factory default setting & try to reconfigure it, may that help."
not a good start if they are unable to understand what the problem is.
BadWap - is yours manufactur refurbished ? If you are in the uk, the sale of goods act offers you protection even if second hand - PenryAspirantThe owner received this reply last week :
"Regarding the concern, it may be appropriate for me to seek additional resources. I recommend escalating your case to the next level for further review and response. I strongly believe that you will be contacted at the earliest."
and hasn't heard back from support since. over 4 days ago.
Realistically it seems obvious to me that even if netgear support do continue to try to fix this problem, they aren't going to be able to, unless there is an as yet un-released firmware update.
Should i recomend the owner a) returns the item for refund? b) return the item directly to netgear under the UK's sales of goods act ?(as it is unable to perform the task it is advertised as doing), or c) install some third party firmware to enable the device to operate as a client bridge ? - jmizoguchiVirtuosopersonally I would dump WGXX and go something else. Newer Prosafe AP or other depending on what you need.

Are netgear support likely to offer to replace this model with a newer prosafe AP if they are unable to provide functioning firmware for it ?
Does the Prosafe AP firmware work, or is it likely to have the same failures and be unable to be configured in Client Mode? do it also suffer from a lack of bug fix updates?
Personally, I'm inclined to recomend the owner refuse a replacement if offered, and demand a full refund plus costs. There a plenty of other brands of AP which are known to work as they state on the box, and also have manufacturer provided firmware updates to fix problems like this if they have occured. - jmizoguchiVirtuoso
