Unable to Access Web UI for EX6200 After Firmware Upgrade
This morning 10/23/2015, I flashed the 1.0.3.68_1.1.104 firmware update to my EX6200 and now it is complaining that the browser(s) I am using do not have Java or it is disabled. It practically freezes Firefox when I browse to the extender's IP. I certainly do have Java installed. I have added the IP address of the extender to the trusted sites list in the Java control panel item. I've changed the plugin settings for Java within Firefox to "Always Allow" for the time being to see if the click-to-activate feature is somehow preventing me from accessing the extender.
Other things I've tried:
- Tried IE 11 - Just sits there trying to reload the page at URL: http://10.20.0.XXX/start.htm
- Made sure I was running the latest version of Java
- Tried Chrome (added IP to Java's allowed list within Chrome)
- Tried Restarting the extender (would rather NOT factory reset and face the possibility of a permanently bricked AP without having a replacement on-hand, as clients can still reach the internet, I just can't administer the AP)
This extender is setup as hard-wired to the network and in an access point capacity. I'm trying to access the Web GUI directly from my Server 2012 which is setup as the domain controller, DHCP and DNS server. I have assigned the extender an IP outside of the DHCP scope. I can reach and ping the extender, it just won't let me move past this message about my browsers not having Java. I hate java....
For the time being, it's serving its intended purpose, but I have to say, I'm sorely disappointed in this product. Especially after deciding to give it a try after a stellar review from ArsTechnica. I intend on replacing my current wireless with Ubiquiti UniFi products soon anyway, so ultimately I'm not worried about the EX6200 state right now, but sure would like an answer about how to get past this stupid Java issue present in ALL browsers I have tried.
Anyone have a solution?

Below is the message that displays. All browsers get caught in a refreshing loop, so it was difficult to screen cap this error message because it would disappear with the constant reloading of the page:

Experiencing the same problem. Any updates to this issue apparently rooted in updating to the latest firmware?

Way to not support your products, Netgear. A reminder of why I stayed away from your products for so long. Your support options are terrible. Apparently, my complementary phone support ended in October and now I have to pay you to call in for your botched firmware update? I can't even send an email or do a live chat, like practically all other sites provide for free? Lame, very lame.
I'm taking this extender into the desert and shooting it to pieces. I'll never buy or recommend a Netgear product ever again.

Hi NMITGuy,
Do your browsers have any extensions/addons that block ads? You can try disabling them temporarily to see if they're affecting your login.
Here are the screens that should be available. I've tested the lastest firmware:
If possible, I would recommend resetting the unit back to factory default.

No 3-rd party blocking extentions are installed for IE, Firefox or Chrome. The only plugins that are active are Java-related, Google Docs or Adobe Acrobat. I've also tried opening with the browsers in safe mode and no difference. I'll try factory reset once I have a reliable replacement AP in case this is unrecoverable.

Nope. It did let me in briefly (a matter of seconds) one day. As soon as I tried going to a different area within the Web UI, it went right back to timing out. I haven't performed a factory reset, as suggested by Netgear staff. I won't do that until I have a reliable replacement. At the beginning of next year, I'm ordering Ubiquiti access points to replace my current AP's. Once I have those in place, I might play around with this Netgear to see if there is anything that can be done to get it to work. If I can't, I'm taking it to the range and blowing it to pieces!

I was able to make mine responsive again after doing a factory reset, plugging an ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports, and using the IP 192.168.1.250. I checked the router speed with the new firware and the speed is down to 20 Mbps from 60 Mbps before the firware update. I put the firmware back to version 1.0.1.60_1.1.98 and my speed came back. Hopefully this helps someone else out.
Enjoy!
