WNDAP350 & 2 x ANT2407
Hi,
I've set up and purchased 1 x WNDAP350 and 2 x ANT2407 Antenna's but with poor results it seems.
I've enabled external antennas in the 2.4Ghz range, but it doesn't seem to make an awful lot of difference compared to the internal 5Ghz antenna.
At the moment, I'm sat maybe 2 feet from the WNDAP350 and 2 feet also from a standard ISP router and the standard ISP router says ~93% on my wifi scanning tool, but the WNDAP350 is sat at around ~86% on the 2.4Ghz Anntenas but ~90% on the 5Ghz antenna?
If I walk down the office approx 25 feet away with no obstructions, I get:
Standard ISP router ~70%
2.4Ghz Antenna ~65%
5Ghz Antenna ~68%
If I go outside, which is 20ft down and 30ft across the car park, I get:
Standard ISP router ~21%
2.4Ghz Antenna ~16% :confused::confused:
5Ghz Antenna ~21%
To me it looks like the antennas are not functioning correctly - or I've not set them up properly. Any ideas?

- I use open-mesh OM2P and 24db/ 400mW
I have three of in my house and it broadcast too much... :)
7db antenna is probably not difference then internal one

hi, thanks for replying.
I'm not sure I quite understand - I don't know what open-mesh OM2P means or the relation to 24db/400mW.
I thought the WNDAP350 has an internal 5dbi antenna, so therefore the 7dbi antenna is better and more range?
I'm really struggling with this one. My boss has a big house and I'm trying to give wifi converage from one access point using omnidirectional antenna's.

How much is the internal range? 200-300ft? - 2db isn't much from 5 to 7
I would place multiple Ap using open-mesh
Should take less than 30min placing few of these - Yes ok I agree 2db isn't much from 5 to 7.

When I see 9dBi antenna, they are 2m tall, :D :eek: - I use 3 and puts out 26db on each right now. Antenna is 2db so unit will put 24db.
It's better than anything.
Products is made for hotspot as well and used by MANY hotels. I just installed for contact work too.
And manage via cloud easily. - RRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr.. Ok I think I understand thank you.
There's a difference between the power output and the antenna db I think then.
After a quick Google, they seem easy to configure. Maybe I'll buy 2-3 to try in the first instance.
So no Netgear product is as good? ^^
