PLEASE HELP
Why does my router update then tell me it has FAILED? Then it reads 403 error; page not available.
ROUTER MODEL: WNR2000v5
Thanks for any help you can give me; otherwise, Netgear will charge me $89.90 to help me!

Thank you for reaching out. May we know what are the LED lights on the router( color and behavior)? Do you still see the wifi signal of the router? Please DM us the serial number of the router.

My router has 3 lights, neon in color and steady with NO blinking. The Serial # is 3U814856084B8.

Please wired a computer using ethernet cable then check if you can go online or get an IP address from the router.

As previously stated, the lights are NEON in color.
My computer has Ethernet from it to the router.

Hard to tell without knowing what you are doing and where it goes wrong.
The best way to update firmware is manually.

Your router dates back to 2014. Netgear provides free support for the first 90 days after purchase.
This place is free.
I have tried to download manually but I get an error message!!
