R6300v2 Latest Firmware and no AP mode

I have a R6300v2 that I bought a few months ago that has the most current firmware (V1.0.4.6_10.0.76). I am trying to use it to connect my computer via ethernet to the modem in another room. The modem is in a separate room than the R6300v2 which is in a different room than my computer. The R6300v2 is connected to the modem via ethernet and I am getting internet connection. The problem is, I can't access most of the settings when I log into routerlogin.net and more specifically there is no AP mode only bridge mode. I also have an ethernet cord running from the R6300v2 to an xbox one which is getting strict NAT so I want to do anything I can to improve that but due to the lack of access to the router settings I cannot. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Do you want to use the R6300v2 as a router or as an AP?  Is the router's internet port connected to the modem, or one of the LAN ports?

I think AP. I just want it to be able to serve as an ethernet splitter honestly. There is another router connected to the same modem that works just fine for wifi. In its current settings, it seems to be amplifying minor ping spikes from the modem that are really effecting my gaming. The ping from the modem maxes at around 100ms and the ping from the R6300v2 maxes at 800, so there's quite the gap.
