router shows Amazon firestick and so does panasonic tv

Hello, I am puzzled . I can see my my printer on the tv net work and it shows it can connect but not using any password. If I remove security I can connect to tv with 2.4 or 5 ghz. but using any security modes I cannot connect. Amazon only allows a secure connection. My Samsung tv I connected with password with no problems. Unfortunately Panasonic dropped all tv support so I guess I will never buy another Panasonic product ever again. not sure if it is a tv or router problem. Panasonic TV is only 4-5 years old.

  • Hello,

The panasonic TV lists all routers in my area and my Amazon Fire stick but would not let me conncect using a password through the TV., Why they show me The Amazon buit you cannot connect is a mystery. I finally just connected the TV using the WPS first and once the TV is connected I couild then connect the Amazon Firestick using the Amazon remote. Hopefully this might help someone else.

    Hi bobm202,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. To clarify, you are attempting to connect both the Panasonic TV and Amazon Firestick to the WiFi, correct?

    3. Is the Panasonic TV WiFi capable or requires the Amazon Firestick? Please indicate the model number of the TV.

    4. Have you tried changing the wireless channel of the router?

    5. Have you tried resetting the router?

    Regards,

      Hi, 1.  1.0.0.0.54

      2. yes. I noticed the amazon on tv says 5.5 and router says 2.4 so I don't know why this is or maybe its the problem.

3 Tv is wifi capable, in fact it tells me I can use wps and no password but also lets one use the password. The ok button on remote adds a number so I must use the green button on remote but most times it does not work to enter the password and I just bought same remote and that also has same problem.  My Hp printer and Google device use no passwords so they connect just fine. Tv model is

      TC-40AS520U

      4. NO,Will this disconnect family and friends phones etc from connecting that already are on a different channel 153?

      5. I have pulled power plugs from modem and router a few times for a minute but not a reset button because I dont need more stuff not connecting

      Hi bobm202,

      1. For connecting the TV, you can check page 41 of the user manual linked below.

      https://panasonic.encompass.com/shop/model_research_docs/?file=/MSC/om/TC40AS520U.pdf

      2. Since you already have wireless devices that are able to detect and connect to your WiFi, the TV should be able to do the same by connecting to the WiFi name and using your WiFi password if you have it secured.

      3. As for the Amazon Fire TV stick, you may refer to the link below for the steps on how to connect it to the WiFi.

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202104860

      4. Please make sure that the TV along with the Amazon Fire TV stick are both close enough to detect the WiFi signal from the router.

      Regards,
