  • Yes it should be on the back or bottom of the router on the label depending on what model of router you have. It should be www.routerlogin or 192.168.1.1 and the default user name is "default" and password will be "password"

       Model?  Firmware version?  Things may be changing now, but for a long
    time "http" was all that was available for local administration.
    "https" is commonly available for remote administration (where it
    matters more).

      Well done, michaelkenward! I obviously didn't pick the right searches to do.

       

      Your link demonstrates that people better schooled than I are already thinking the issue I was. I kinda hope we can get to HTTPS for local admin. It's certainly less important than for external or remote admin.

       

      By the same token, I'm not at all sure it's a "just slap it in the next release of the firmware" issue. There's enough complexity there, I can see that it could be much more expensive to do than most consumers could benefit from or understand.

       

      Maybe in an upcoming generation of routers ...

        It is already happening.

         

        My R7000P has it. I haven't used it for a few weeks, but I think the R7800 does too.
