What to do? Router? Please help
Hi, im currently buying a xbox one and to connect to the wifi i know that my wifi (dorm wifi) doesnt work, (i searched the ways it worked but im not sure, and for others reasons too i want a router) so my problem is that i got no lan connection only wifi, the wifi is average. I need to know whats the best thing to buy and if i can set up it with a log in (like hotel wifi with username and password) wifi. Thanks!

Just to clarify
You start by saying your wifi doesn't work and finish with it works but isn't great. You have made clear you have no Lan connection so this helps.
I will assume you have wifi but just not great wifi. If you do not have WIFI then technically you have no access to the internet or network from your location and you will need to get a service directly into your Dorm before buying any hardware.
So assuming you do have WIFI, you can buy an extender EX6150 (you will need to know the password to connect to the network mind you but as you said it is terrible again I assume you have connected other devices no problem so know this) you can then have the Xbox Connect via a Lan port into the Extender. The extender will also give out a wireless signal.

Do note however if you are adding this device to a university wifi system, there is a high chance they may either Kick you off or email you asking you to remove it, so please do check with the initial Wireless provider and check that this is ok.

thanks for answering, what i meant was that a login wifi doenst works on xbox, also i can only connect two devices thats why i wanted a router, my main question is that i would be able to set up the router with a logn in wifi?

Yes you can purchase a router, and have a guest network that people can access via a password. Similar to Hotel Wifi where people can Login.
However again you have stated your Xbox will not accept Login wifi but then want a router that can set up login wifi. I am afraid you are very unclear.
I do not feel buying a router to add into your Dorm with the current setup you have will do what you expect it to do.
Perhaps by having an EX7000 desktop Extender with 4 lan ports in the back would be better. Without a LAN port connecting you to the network the ONLY way to get a network started in your DORM via LAN is to buy an Extender as you need a way of converting your WiFi signal coming in into a physical device. That then can give a wifi signal or LAN port to directly connect to the network.
An extender will do this a router will not.
- no help to me I don't have a nighthawk 1900 wifi extender I seen u have to have that one to use the full capacity of the genie app I bought a netgear ac1200 ex 6200 wifi extender I apparently bought the wrong one I can't get to the settings or set it up since I've had the extender frustration it sucks

What seems to be the issue here? Are you struggling to connect to an outside wifi source with your EX6200? which is what this post is about.
I see you have posted on another forum referencing Wrong extender again about a WNR3500Lv
2? why is it the wrong extender, I need more details if I am to help you. You are probably better creating your own post than posting under others as it can cause confusion to those reading. You have purchased an EX6200 that much is clear, you seem to be struggling to set it up. Have you contacted US Netgear support?
or have you typed How to set up my EX6200 into google? The link below will guide you to an easy how to setup your EX6200 walkthrough.
If you believe your EX6200 is faulty then please contact US support to verify its failure and organise a replacement.
it's not allowing me to set up my router been online for like 3 days with this I did the wps that's the only way I can use my extender can't set anything up can't do my extender or router nothing it's not as easy as it is stated in the video that's for sure I'm tired of being online with this setting up stuff tired of wasting my time hours for no progress of setting up for something that is stated to be easy
