How to disable DNCP on the R7000 as Access Point

Hi, I am using the nighthawk router as access point on the first floor of my house with an additional wifi network. However, dhcp cannot be switched of and now it interferes with dhcp on the router on the ground floor (which is also the modem). Is there a way to shut-off dhcp on the nighthawk while being an access point? pls advise,

Ray

  • Can you set the router in Router mode and disable DHCP by unchecking the "use router as DHCP server" box?

  • You're doing something wrong. If you put the router in AP mode, DHCP should be automatically disabled (and a few other things as well). How did you put the router in AP mode?

         "DHCP"?

Which model is it?  Look for "Model" on the product label.  Firmware
      version?

Says who?  "cannot" is not a useful problem description.  It does
not say what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.
As usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results
(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
      descriptions or interpretations.

It should be automatic/unavoidable, if you follow the instructions in
      the appropriate User Manual.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for a
topic like "Set Up the Router as a WiFi Access Point".

Thx for responding so quickly, I use the web interface, tab advanced, advanced settings and then select AP. After doing that, the LAN and WAN settings are grayed out. And Even as AP, the router showes DHCP is on, next to the conflicts. Pls refer to attachment. Any advise what I can do otherwise?
