Netgear wifirouter R7900P is not blocking

Very concerned.  I've added googleusercontenet.net in the block site, fire wireshark and it still goes there.  Doesn't show as blocked.   What gives?

    is it an HTTPS site?

If so, blocking won't work as its encrypted

Not sure what you mean.   I am not asking to block content,  i am looking to block destinations.  In the security options, clearly states "blocking sites containing key words or domain".    that is url=domain.   I don't care about encrypted communication and fully aware it is ssl encrypted.   But i do care if googleusercontent is stealing information and for that reason alone,  i should be able to block destinations.

I believe what is meant is that the blocking feature of the router don't block any connections to remote sites that use HTTPS as there entry into there pages. The router can only block HTTP sites.

I belive of you want more blocking of HTTPS sites, you'll need to look into DNS services like OpenDNS that I believe can support blocking of connections to sites that use HTTPS.

For better informed feedback could be it might help if joblack4949 explained why they want to block these sites.

      There may be other solutions.

Aha, just spotted the later message.

      I don't understand it.

Seems to confuse incoming and outgoing.

You seem to be missing some network fundamentals.  I don't care what the ssh encrypts.  The packet sent across the wire,  amongst other things, it contains the destination.  That is at the network layer (layer3).   And that is what a router functions at.  It is a layer 3 device.   That said,  no one cares what is being transmitted and again, i am fully aware data is encrypted,  but i would expected as a quite expensive router it is capable of blocking destinations.  In fact this is taking from their site:
