Netgeat R7000 keeps disconnecting

I have been having issues with my router and originally it keeps disconnecting from wifi, so then i installed version V1.0.9.42_10.2.44 to my router and that has made my 5G wifi disappear, Does anyone know if there a newer more stable version that will keep my 5G and my device from disconnecting (also sidenote some devices eg. chromecast will refuse to cast from our phones all together)

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

I would loaded up current v.136 FW:

Do a factory reset by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds, then release. When the top LEDS come back ON, power off both router and ISP modem for 1 minute then back on. After the router LEDs are ON WHITE, walk thru the setup wizard with a wired PC and web browser.

You will need to do your own research here in the community board to review the various opinions on firmware stability.

I would start with the most current, Firmware Version 1.0.11.136, and work from there.

Remember to keep your terminology correct.  The router does not "connect to Wi-Fi", the router is the source transmitter of Wi-Fi and various devices connect to the router via Wi-Fi.

If your devices are disconnecting from the Wi-Fi on your router, review the earlier thread messages and disable the "features" on the router that normally hinder connection.  These being QOS, traffic meter, auto connect, and auto channel selection.

Radio frequency interference can be the cause of devices disconnecting from Wi-Fi.  Various sources of Wi-Fi interference can be neighbors and their Wi-Fi, cordless phones, and microwave ovens.

    What tells you that?

The router will not keep disconnecting from wifi. (As router, it does connect to wifi.) It may keep turning off, or losing the wifi, but any disconnection is more likely to be on the part of the devices that connect to the router.

I always find that before the brute force approach of hitting a router with a sledgehammer, or resetting it, you might like to investigate the root cause of the problem. Unless you do that, a reset – which is essentially a witchcraft move for when you are stuck – will only set you back to the beginning.

.... that has made my 5G wifi disappear,

Does the 5 GHz wifi go off? Do you have "Smart Connect" enabled. If so, you won't see separate SSIDs for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz.

What do you see if you go into the "Basic WiFi Settings" of the R7000?

(also sidenote some devices eg. chromecast will refuse to cast from our phones all together)

What tells you that this is a router issue?

Dig a bit deeper and you may get to the bottom of the problems with this firmware.

There have been a dozen newer versions since that one.

If it keeps disconnecting and you've tried several of the newer firmwares I'd try an older random firmware and see if that helps things out.

If you are throwing different firmware versions at your router like a blue plate special, you will need to do a full firmware default reset between uploads.  After the upload and router boot, let it run for a few minutes and then do a power cord disconnect reboot before testing.
