Nighthawk X6 R8000 Schedule

I purchased this router with the intentions of increasing my wifi speeds. I have the black comcast package (180 Mbps) but I am only getting arond 50 from this router. I was told I could get more which is why I purchased it. Can anybody help me with getting better download speeds. If not, I will take it back. Thanks.

  • Try turning off QOS.  You really don't need it with the speeds you can get.

    Hi MCWB,

When you connect your computer directly to the mode, what is the speed?

What is the firmware version of the router?

Have you tried changing ethernet cables?

      Hey,

When I connect my computer directly, the speed is 180Mbps.

      The firmware version is 1.0.3.4.

My ethernet cables are CAT5e so I didnt see any point in changing them.

  •   When you say greater speed are you talking about WiFi 2GHz or 5GHz?  Have you tried changing channels?

If 2GHz do you have an old WiFi adapter that would limit you to 50Mbps?  Maybe you need a new adapter.

Im talking about Wifi 5GHz. How do I change channels? What kind of adapter are you speaking of?

The only thing I have is a modem and a router. If there is something I am missing, please let me know!

      Thanks.

5g AC requires a 5g AC capable client to see those higher speeds. It takes both a AC router and a AC client.

  • Sorry for the late reply. It seems cutting off the QoS worked.
