R8000 Nighthawk security upgrade

I finally got round to this upgrade. After downloading and unzipping the file, logging on over ethernet, Advanced/Admin/Router update, browse the file, the progress bar disappears after a few seconds after the % gets to 100, and the router chugs along with no amber lights. I reboot everything works fine, but the firmware is at V1.0.0.102. Check for upgrades with the router and it says I have the latest firmware.

Repeated the process three times now with the same result.

Any ideas?

Hi kwzrex,

Reset the router first before loading the firmware. Make sure to use wired connection while loading.

  Sorry for the delay, I travel for work, so haven't been home to give it a try. The reset before reflashing worked and I was able to get the security update done.
