DHCP assignment issues on RS700 are not fixed
Trial Firmware for me too please. DHCP assignment issues on RS700 are not fixed with the October release 1.0.9.16_2.0.106. Options also seems skimpy in the configuration settings.
Thanks!!
Issue resolved. BitDefender Security suite's firewall has an issue with detecting the network is a Home/Work network, and Public. Forced settings to Home/Work, and had to do this a few times on one rig, due to BD not saving the settings properly. One would think that they'd easily pull that information from Windows on install (c# System.Management "Network Category").
Additionally, it also has a "Stealth Mode" feature, that also has to be turned off.
This resolved the issue on all 3 machines.
I appreciate your help and time. And the same to WarmHelp_NTGR. :)
Thanks!

Indeed inside BitDefender. From the App:
- Protection category, in Firewall Settings.
- Type: Home/Office -should be set as default in all tabs if you are connected as such.
- The setting labeled "Use passive DHCP Mode," should be Enabled.
- On the last tab (labeled "Settings"), Click "Edit Stealth Settings," and Disable "Ethernet."
- Click OK, and close the BitDefender window.
- I would repeat the above settings changes. Settings seemed not to take on the first go around.
This resolved all DHCP issues here on all 3 machines that exhibited the issue on a weekly interval.

Is this in the configuration of Bit Defender on the NH app or on the BD app installed on devices?
Glad you figured it out. I might have not have looked at that. However I don't run BD unless we are testing something.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
Enjoy. 📡
Way to assume. Nope. The only new driver released was for the wireless card. Not the 226v. And my 226v had the issue again this morning. I have been working directly with WarmHelp_NTGR on this matter and will post details here when I know its fixed.

There is new drivers for the ethernet card which I have installed:
Have you tried this driver?
Been working for me.
Yep. The 31.1 archive for 2.5gb and others, does not contain a newer driver than the one I was already using from October. The file time and date stamps are from 2025, with only the readme file as changed/updated, So, I'll try again when Intel actually releases something for these adapters. I discovered this not long after release. The only update I found for any of my hardware was for the KillerWifi on the laptop, that also exhibited this issue. I installed the driver to this machine 2 weeks back, and this past Saturday, it did not show the issue. Sunday, I installed the newest Beta firmware on the RS700 as well. So waiting again for Saturday. I sure as HELL would like to know what/why this occurs on this regular of a schedule. I'd love to see the code or what is governing this schedule. If they would start there, they'd find the problem.

Any progress on this?
I have not been able to reproduce this after installing newer Intel drivers.
Also there is a beta FW available as well for the RS router.
Seems like this issue between the RS and Intel i226-V adapter has been resolved.

Just curious if you have had any progress on this?
Have you given newer Intel adapter drivers a try?

Any progress on this?
I woke my PC today and at the sign in screen the network icon seemed to take a few seconds to get going but it finally did and got connected. Noticed this with this PC. It's a older PC so not the fastest but it connected. I don't feel this is a RS issue. DHCP is working with my Intel I-226v adapter.

As FURRYe38 asked, which specific Ethernet adapter is in these two PCs?
The internet seems to report that not all cards with the Intel 226-V chip perform the same. I could imagine a Netgear engineer remarking to his buddies, "Hey. I'm using an Intel 226-V on this RS700 and it works perfectly."
I posted this above....
- Boot up, as in power on Windows 11 14900K Desktop PC's, both hand built. Both have run on another Netgear router (AX120v2 with the overheating issue that was replaced by this RS700) without any DHCP issues. So The only real thing is that I do not have issues with DHCP issues from other equipment like my older Dell Gigabit switch can also assigns IP's to these 2 rigs with no problems. And yes, currently the DHCP side for that switch is disabled. I'm leaning toward the RS700 has issues with newer Intel LAN 226V chipset over a WIRED connection. You are over thinking this. Again, this issue appeared when this router was plugged into my network on week one, so IMO the rigs are not the issue as they work as expected on other network hardware. If I were to get a different router, I'd bet the problem would go away (AX120v2 worked, except it required an external fan to cool it). You'd think flagship products would actually be vetted before release. I'm sick of being a guinea pig for these companies buggy **bleep** routers that cost a fortune.

Do you have these PCs set for IP address reservation or are they set for Dynamic on the RS Router?
Are these the only devices exhibiting this issue with the Intel 226V chipset adapters installed.
What driver version are you using for the Intel Adapters?
Are these adapters built in to the motherboard or are they PCIe installable cards?
Which brand are these adapters if installable cards?
These PCs are not kept ON all the time and turned OFF?
Which LAN ports are you using on the RS router to connect these two PCs too?
