NH RS300 - QoS
Does the RS300 have a QoS feature?
According to the manual for the RS300 I have access to there should be a QoS feature in the router.
This is a screenshot of the manual, page 104.
I the admin interface I don't see any references to this QoS menu:
What am I missing her?
The router is bought in Europe/Norway, in case there is some regional differences to the RS300. And in case you wonder, the FW is the latest version I have access to (see details above).

I tried to go with ethernet to the extender, and use 5 GhZ fastlane, but that was worse than WiFi:
If you're running through a wireless extender, it will add latency and buffer bloat. The tribands with the dedicated backhauls tend to be lower and also when you hardwire in the extender.
Compare the pc directly connected to the router versus going router--->extender---->computer.
Extenders are great but they do add latency.
You can try using fastlane mode which can reduce latency but at the cost of speed as you end up using the slower 2.4ghz for either backhaul or fronthaul.
Yeah, I'm fully aware that this is not an ideal setup, but it's the best I get without too big of an investment (in infrastructure in the house).
I played with the fastlane mode, but it hasn't given any significant improvement.
My next try will be a WiFi7 enabled extender when it comes in the formfactor of a wall plug.

That page in the version I see is in the uPNP section, and there is no reference to QOS
Can you give some details on what problem you are needing to solve?
I now see that the manual I found was from May 2024, so that explains the difference. Maybe at some point QoS was a feature, and they removed it from the FW.
My question was whether the RS300 have a QoS feature or not, and now I know for a fact that it doesn't.
I wanted to prioritize some type of traffic due to some latency issues.

It might be the case that I overestimated the RS300 when I bought it, but it looked capable based on the product description.This is the situation I want to mitigate
Hard to say whether the buffer bloat is in the router or whether it is in the extender (or the backhaul link between them). But I think it's unlikely to be the router.
Is it possible to run this test on a device directly connected to the router? (as plemans also suggested). That would help isolate the problem.

Given your overall speeds, powerline would be another possibility. Performance depends on lot on the mains wiring, but AV2 can deliver up to 300 mbps or so.
