RS500 hidden advanced setting enables MLO

Not sure why Netgear chose to hide the advanced wireless settings revealed through the F12 browser display link mod. I can confirm that only the MLO setting works in my RS500 router when toggled ON, but the speeds seem to be worse with the Intel BE200 laptop wifi card with MLO enabled on the 5 and 6 Ghz bands.

Edit: Can't attach screenshot...due to media upload in progress error.

can you post a link (URL) to information about this F12 mod?

Yes, the Community Forum "paste" function has been broken since the first of the year (12 weeks).  Netgear said a fix was coming soon, but that was on Jan 20.

There is a work-around which involves putting the image on a cloud storage platform and then using the Camera Icon "From image URL" option.

Found the OP here and dug around to find the additonal hidden settings.

  • Here's the link to the wireless advances settings revealed after unselecting the "Display link : None" setting through F12 in Chrome.

  • The BE200 does not support true MLO.

It supports eMLSR insofar it listens to all the frequency bands and swaps channels when it detects load.

As per the official product brief

Thus, the reason Netgear hid that option was because it is not included in that specific model?

Hope they enable the MLO feature in future firmware updates.

NG keeps the MLO feature hidden until such time as they have fully developed MLO for the RS series. They are working on it and it's not ready as of yet. No idea when. I'll keep checking.

So the WEB UI code is make to hide the UI feature as it is a placeholder only for when the actual MLO feature IS ready to be deployed and enabled by NG.

My two Intel BE200 series work with MLO with my Orbi BE series MLO supporting systems.

Also my Iphone 17 is working with MLO as well.

The Intel BE200 only support the eMLSR version of MLO. This means they can't use multiple frequencies at the same time, and only have the version of ML that can "sense" which one is open to swap to dynamically.

They connect at 5 and 6Ghz at the same time.

Would be up to the wifi community, devs and Mfrs to bring that to market then. Maybe a growth or graduation of the feature technology. Something we don't have control over.

Overall MLO is NOT supported as of yet on RS routers. NG is working on it and will have to wait for them to get it going.

If you want MLO, Orbi BE has MLO support.

Yes, full MLO isn't implemented in any consumer device so far. Do you see better speeds in the orbi with MLO on? Does the Orbi have an option to turn off front haul MLO?

Orbi systems don't have any way of turning off BH of any kind. Renders the satellites useless.

The RBS on BE systems connect at MLO with the router unit, 5+6Ghz, as does my iphone 17 and Samsung 25s. I presume this is the 1st gen version of MLO.

Was told that NG is only supporting 5 and 6Ghz MLO only even though 2.4Ghz maybe in the specs.

Speeds are mostly to spec when testing with MLO.

Will be up to the wifi community to get the other versions of MLO working and out to the router Mfrs and then how to deploy. No idea when that will be. May not see that until next gen HW as well.

And with the newer restrictions of HW imports, may never see anything quick or on the horizon.
