The first time I had the issue I think I had seen there was an update the day prior to the V1.0.9.16

I am having issues with

Firmware Version

V1.0.9.16

It was a recent update just before thanksgiving I believe. Since then my router has dropped internet and stayed disconnected. I have an RS700. I can turn it off and back on and it will boot up and work fine without unplugging for 30 seconds, but I shouldn’t have to be doing this.

The first time I had the issue I think I had seen there was an update the day prior to the V1.0.9.16. Both my 10gb and internet LEDs stay orange while everything else is white. I’m really grateful you have people working on this because I believe this is probably a wide issue.

  • To clarify. My internet will disconnect once a day and stay disconnected until turn it off and let it turn back on. Then it will work normal until the next day. I’m on Truvista 2GB fiber internet in Chester SC.

try unplugging and plugging back in the ethernet cable from the ONT. Alternatively, you can go into the router GUI and do a release/renew for the router to grab DHCP. Make sure you get the original firmware version and do a backup copy of the router before you do any possible updates. FURRY is a great resource here, also Netgear staff as well should be able to reach out and assist if need be.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Is IPv6 and Protection Engine enabled on the RS router?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

      Hey, FURRY!

I reverted it back to V1.0.7.96. Make Adtran, model# SDX622xv, ISP - TruVista Fiber, 2GB Fiber plan. Yes Cat 6A. No to IPv^ we are still using IPv4. No a factory reset was not completed as I have all my devices perfectly labeled in the system.

NG is aware of these issues with ONTs. I recommend that you reach out to NG support and ask for a beta that maybe availalbe. Others have posted and got some beta FW to fix this.

  • Sounds like you’re not the only one seeing issues after the V1.0.9.16 update. The constant orange 10 Gb and internet LEDs point to a firmware-related WAN problem, not your setup. Power-cycling shouldn’t be required, so you’re right to flag it. Hopefully the team pushes a fix soon because this looks like a broader issue with the RS700 on the latest firmware.
