How do I change my ReadyCloud Admin?
My bad was to choose an invalid ReadyCLOUD admin Email address years ago that contained a "+" symbol on the left side. Somehow, with the new MyNETGEAR account logic, the server has a few issues with it, doesn't let me access folders from the ReadyCLOUD admin account nor change any settings. I was able to change said account Email address on the website, but only the last feature works now.
As I created enough several plain ReadyCLOUD users for myself and others, it isn't a big issue, but I would like to exchange the ReadyCLOUD admin for another.
The server is already full of data inside the cloud users' home folders, but shared links are of no importance.
I have seen this post suggesting to leave and re-join ReadyCLOUD in the Cloud tab within the local admin interface.
However, when clicking on leave the following frightening warning prompt appears:
This device is managed by a ReadyCLOUD user.
Do you really want to remove your device from ReadyCLOUD?
By continuing, the following data will be deleted:
- User folders
- Shared links
However, if I only want to disable ReadyCLOUD, the following, less dangerous message appears:
Are you sure you want to disable ReadyCLOUD?
Am I on the right track?
Hello Björn_Eberhardt,
Yes you are on the right track. Disabling the ReadyCloud is fine as it will not remove the current ReadyCloud users. Clicking Leave button on the other hand, means you are removing the ReadyCloud user that has admin rights for ReadyCloud access and will definitely also remove the current invited ReadyCloud users as well as their home/personal shares.
Should you want to change the ReadyCloud account that has admin rights, make sure you back up all the users' home shares first.
Regards,

I need to allocate time to mv the /home folders into a different data share, change the cloud admin and restore the cloud users, permissions, groups for everyone again. But I think the answer sounds helpful and I'm heading towards these steps in near future.
