Netgear RR4360S FW 6.10.4 Apache2 Constantly fails. System more sluggish than usual. Apache2 contniues to loop into safe-mode. Root Squash was stomping on shares, mistakenly tried to chmod the share, had to restart NAS as it would not kill the process. Now apache barely works and there aren't many documents that talk about technical T/S on these devices.

  • Thanks,

I was able to fix my system by killing smb and nfs, and turning off the machines that had an iscsi connection. This allowed the apache to stablize in safe mode and for me to reload the firmware. The install was successful, but it still did not restart on its own; I still had to force it off about an hour of waiting.

  • Upgrading the FW to 6.10.5 has seemingly broke apache.

If Netgear had any quality in their documentation, there would be explanations on using ssh and cli to upgrade/reinstall fw/sw to correct issues.

There is a hotfix for this problem.  If it hasn't been installed yet, then reboot the NAS.

Where is the hotfix located? I do blieve though that the upgrade process was interrupted, and a reload from flash may be required.
