Backup to Vault not working

I have a paid vault account setup with backups set since last September. On the readyNas 102The vault is setup, the "logged in as" email shows the correct email next to "vault" under Backup->Cloud Storage and when you click "manage readynas vault" the respective vault opens on the web page. When on the web under the backup settings tab and opening the applicable backup (only backup) everything appears in order (all folders are selected in the include section) and when I click on the "last update" link it shows the time and date of the last update (last night at 1am) as per the settings. The only problem is, when i click on "files" i don't appear to have any new files whatsoever since it performed he original backup back in 2013 and many files have been added and changed since then. Even more, when I open the "account usage" report it shows the same space used for the last several backups. Both of which make me suspect that in fact the backups are not taking place. maybe someone could shed some light on this for me?

  • I've signed up few days ago, it worked for couple of days and did 4gb backup and then stopped, in the report section i see it like stuck on the same files backup. Looked for error's logs but no luck. Emailed their support.
Luckily it's just the trial 30 days.
  • Interesting, thanks Marto, perhaps is some long or weird file name which made it stuck.
I'll have a look and update the thread when find the cause.

    Cheers
  • I've removed some files with long path/name and after a while it resumed the backup.
Not promising however the fact it gets stuck like this and doesn't give any error anywhere.
Their support pages are terrible too, tried to sign up but it keeps asking me the email like stuck on that page.

Anyone with dropbox experience? Any good?
  • Yes, it resumed the backup after remove some weird/long file names, what however surprised me is that no error notification/log was produced. The support told me that it alerts you it is not backing up after 7 days, so in my case I was still 2 o 3 days short; they also said that the errors are logged in the Historical Backup Activity but I have been playing with that when saw it was stuck and did not return me anything.

Since resuming the backup it's all smooth so I will keep using it for now, even if not perfect, as far as I can understand there are no equivalent solution for my readynas 312
