Photos II - no invitation email
I've now created a second album and again I have issue with no invitation email being sent.
First time, the whole 'http://photos.readynas.com' link wasn't usable to access my nas, so I figured it was linked with that. Next day I was able to send the invitations.
Today, I've created a new album, but again no invitations were sent. This time the link 'photos.readynas.com' works fine, so it must be related just to the SMTP server used. Another option could be, that this time I tried to use the 'group' feature. But I sent an invite to my address as well, which didn't work either.
Is it possible to setup Photos II to use my email config from the frontview for sending the invitations? Just like the alert emails which are sent by my nas when there is an issue or a system update. I think this could help in case your server is unavailable.
I'm using Readynas PRO.
UPDATE:
Just realized that the emails are actually sent using the frontview email setup. What is strange though, is that the emails are not sent. I clicked on the 'Send Test Message' button in frontview and received an email almost immediately. Then suddenly after several seconds I've received also the invitations.
It seems like the emails just get stuck somewhere and hitting the test button has pushed the invitations through as well. Any idea how to fix this behavior?
Thanks

- yoh-dahGuideThe invitations are actually sent from photos.readynas.com, so it may have been a coincidence.
- mhagreisAspirantDear Yoh-dah,
Can you please shortly explain why u use Photos.readynas.com domain so frequently.
I like the software and it's add on easly.
And of course there is always a but, or a question because i miss website email and domain personalisation.
Can you please expain why you have chosen to take the Photos.readynas.com domain into this app.
sorry for my bad english,
I am a living in the netherlands so thats why.
Best regards Maarten Hagreis. - rubberscorpioAspirantI also have sent out invitations and none of them tend to arrive. Is there something in the setup I have to do to make sure invitations are being sent, or is this a problem? How long do the invitations usually take to reach the recipients?

Using photos.readynas.com has several benefits:
(1) as a photographer, you can access your albums with a simple URL -- photos.readynas.com/<my_readynas> whether you're local or remote.
(2) it naturally acts as a dynamic DNS without needing a DDNS account, possible saving our users the fees imposed by the DDNS services.
(3) acts as a proxy to allow easy uploads of photos by email or ftp w/o needing complex setup on the ReadyNAS
Hope that helps. 8) - yoh-dahGuide

PM me with your ReadyNAS and a couple email addresses of the guests you've sent that didn't get the invitation, and approximate time when the invitations were sent. - NickSchweitzerAspirantI too am having the same issue. I've tried sending out email invites several times in a couple different ways and have been unable to. Spam folders have been checked. This is extremely frustrating since no errors are reported by the Photo II software.

Hi NickSchweitzer,
Please PM yoh-dah the information like he said in the previous post.
Thanks - nilesfAspirantWas this ever resolved? If so, what wa the fix? If not, what is Netgear doing about it?
Thanks,
Niles - toadwonAspirantI'm with the others. I have tested using five different email addresses, some photographers, and sending the request to myself. I have yet to see any emails.
Between this and the fact the remote app does not work whatsoever on Ios and the inability to set-up user IDs on remote app mac it makes the purchase look like a poor choice. I'll post the other issues to another board though. - WishAspirantI have the same issue, no emails are being sent out. I have tried different photographer accounts with no success.
