Photos redirection service

I had Photos II up and running and was able to get to te service from the internet (outside of my LAN).  When I recently tried to access it I can no longer get to the service.  When I go to the setup screen inside Raidiator (ver 4.2.28) and try and run the diagnosis routine I get the following error: "Error: Error while checking public ip. Please try it later."  Is the redirecting service no longer running on http://photos.readynas.com/?

Thanks!!!

    Hello mheasel,

    Welcome to the community!

    What ReadyNAS model are you using and what FW version?

    Have you tried another web browser too?

    Regards,

  • I just recently replaced my Actiontec 85M24 router with the new FiOS Quantum Gateway G1100 router and now I can't "share" my albums with my friends.

    I am using a ReadyNAS Pro2 (RNDP2000), Internet Explorer 11, Windows 7, IPx4 address 192.168.1.152, Firmware 4.2.28, Photo II v1.0.6.

    I had no known problems with the Actiontec router.  After I replaced it with the FiOS G1100, I initially was able to send emails with the hyperlink but the receipents weren't able to open Photo II.  The next day, I found that the Photo II told me that it had sent the email but it was never received.  In both cases it was the same email addresses; comcast, verizon, and gmail.

    I reran Raidar and investigated Photo II Add-on Management and found in the Summary tab that the "status was not registered". When I clicked on Diagnose the results were "Error: Error while checking public ip.  Please try it later".  When I checked the Web Forwarding tab I found the Web Forwarding status was Not Registered.  And I got the same " "Error: Error while checking public ip.  Please try it later" when I clicked Diagnose.  When I clicked on "Check Hostname Availability", I got "Hostname availability check failed.  After waiting more than 2 days, I still get the same messages above.

    BUT, I am able to do all of the functions of Photo II in uploading photos, moving photos to different categories, and etc.

    The IP used with 85M24 was dynamically selected as "192.168.1.2.  Now it has been selected as "192.168.1.152".

    The new router was installed with the assistance of a Verizon Tech with him doing the installation while I advised him what information to insert into user selected boxes.  I have also used Chrome rather than Internet Explorer 11 with no difference in outcome.  Hopefully, you can diagnose what my problem is.  Ron

      try forwarding port 8086 to the NAS in your new router.

      If that works, then reserve the IP address of the NAS, to make sure it doesn't change.

        I wasn't sure of what to do so I talked to Verizon Tech Service (2 techs) and they did a "Port Forwarding".

        Networked Computer / Device

        HALL-NAS 192.168.1.152

        Applications & Ports Forwarded

        Destination Ports - 8086

        TCP Any -> 8086

        UDP Any -> 8086

        No change.  Still have all of the error messages in Photo concerning "not registered" & Hostname availability.

        Plus when I click on share

        QUESTION - Can I "reload Photo" without losing the Albums that I have already created over the past many years?

        I really appreciate your help.  What next should I try?
