PS3 Media Server for ReadyNAS PRO
I have made addon PMS for readynas pro. it support transcoding in realtime (mkv can play at PS3).
Addon include java, mplayer, mencoder, ffmpeg, tsmuxer and PMS. If anybody want to test it - download link:

MD5: BFFA401DB01BDD66EDAB1102836AD094
Transcoding is very slow... and size of addon very big. I have no time to correct it and finish the project, but if anybody want to finish - this link to source code of addon:

Do you like Twonky better? Actually over the weekend I upgraded to Firmware 4.2.9 and I updated my Netgear Router WRND3700 with its latest firmware and my PS3 streaming over ReadyDNLA improved greatly after that! I was able to watch an entire movie without skipping last night and I was very happy.
So I am not sure whether it was the router firmware or the ReadyNas 4.2.9 firmware update that helped or a combination of both. - latitudehopperAspirantI do. I think it is faster and I prefer the way it manages file trees over the built in client. Also you have more control over the entire operation. As soon as they initiate video transcoding I will wet myself with joy.
- pricey4907AspirantHey Guys, It is great to see that someone has taken the time and effort to port this over to the Pro. I posted a request on PS3 media servers forum about a year ago and never heard anything back.
I am sorry to say that even after upgrading to 2GB of ram the Pro Pioneer just cant seem to transcode a 1080p.mkv, it just pops up with file corrupted. I am going to try running a few of them through mkv.vob and see if that fixes the problem but i wont convert all of my library as i want to retain the original .mkv format and DTS sound. - mathijzzAspirant

But if you can reupload this again (i have problem with old one download of this v1.1), i will try to uninstal both then install v1.1 uninstall and install again v2.1, maybe its the way for my "PMSFORREADYNAS" problem.
In frontview i dont see "PMSFORRAEDYNAS" share, and when i'm trying to create this share saying "share already exist".
It's a log: "The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume. PMSFORREADYNAS".
Indicator light is fine but PS3 still don't "see" server.
Just like petese i have a ReadyNAS NVX and my PS3 also doesn't see the PMS Server. Is this addon not compatible with the NVX? - igor_dulatovAspirant1. Current version of PMS is beta and have some problem
2. If new PMS will be released, please tell it here and i will modify the server program for PRO.
3. Does it work on NVX? - i don't know, because i doesn't have it. - nfornwaltAspirantigor,
First off let me say that I really appreciate you making this add-on. PMS is an awesome software and to have it directly on my Pro is a dream come true. I just installed the add-on on my ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer. I can browse the media directory and play .avi files on my 60GB PS3 but I can not play any .mkv or .ogm files. When I try I get the same error as Ushman and pricey4907 "The data is corrupted". My Pro is stock so it only has 1GB of RAM. I was thinking of tossing some memory but pricey4907 stated 2GB didn't help. So before I order 4GB of memory I was hoping you had some ideas. Thanks. - igor_dulatovAspirantWhats version of firmware?
My PRO is pioneer edition and i add only hdds - all works fine. I think it because you don't have some libraries.... - nfornwaltAspirantWell I missed an essential first step in troubleshooting. Upgraded to firmware version 4.2.9 but after I restarted, the PS3 would no longer detect PMS on the ReadyNAS. Also I can't check the settings because FrontView will no longer load properly. Fortunately I can still access the network share from my PC. After doing some reading I found that in this Firmware revision FrontView only supports IE7 and I have been using FireFox. So when I get back to the house I'll try to open FrontView with IE7 and go from there. Thanks again for the help igor.
- nfornwaltAspirantWell I verified I could get into FrontView with IE7. I tried restarting PMS and searching for new servers on the PS3 but it still could find PMS on my NAS. I then removed the PMS Add-In from my NAS and re-installed it. My PS3 could once again see PMS on the NAS but it will not play .mkv or .ogm via Mecoder or TsMuxer. You said that I may not have all the libraries loaded. If that is still the case after the firmware update how do I go about loading these libraries?
