2TB HD for ReadyNAS 1000s (not on HCL)???
I have an old ReadyNAS 1000s. (we purchased a newer Netgear Readynas 2100) and i'm looking to upgrade the drives. I read 2TB was the max, but listings are only for 1100. Has anyone had any experie...

The 1000S is an Infrant product that was discontinued before the NetGear acquisition, I think. It's similar to the 1100, so follow the 1100 compatibility list.
Note that neither of the disks you mention are on the compatibility list for the 1100. The WD20EARS specified in the notes is the WD20EARS-00S8B0
You may find drives approved for the NV+ (v1) may work, but the NV+ (v1) is not as close a match for the 1000S as the 1100.
I wouldn't recommend either of those drives you suggested if you are after reliability. I'm not a fan of using green drives.
When did you last factory default the 1000S? If you didn't last factory default it on 4.1.7 or later, I would suggest you update to the latest firmware, backup your data, power down, remove all disks (label order), put the new disks in, then restore from backup. This will give you 4k sector partition alignment. If you don't have this you may have poor write performance.
