3 TB disk in Duo v1, confusing info on ReadyNAS website?

Hi,

I'm seeing massive increase in reallocated sector counts in a 1.5 TB disk in my Duo v1, so I'd like to replace the disk ASAP.

Given that 3 TB disks seem to be norm today, I thought it would be nice to expand to a 3 TB X-RAID at the same time. The ReadyNAS FAQ for the Duo v1 (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/hardware ... s_supports) claims support for 3 TB disk, but the HCL doesn't list any 3 TB disks for the Duo v1 (but there are entries for the Duo v2).

Aren't 3 TB disk supported after all in Duo v1, or haven't there just been any tested yet?

Thank for quick replies :).

rgds,

brum

There is no GPT support for Sparc e.g. Duo (v1). As there is no GPT support disks larger than 2TB are recognised as having less than 1TB of capacity. As HERBIEO said 3TB disks are not compatible with the Duo (v1).
  • That link is a general limitation rather than a specific for the Dui v1. Always go with the [urlhttp://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20686/]HCL[/url].
