The NAS only supports TLS 1.0, and the browsers have recently started to require TLS 1.2. As a temporary workaround, you can download an old version of FireFox (94.0.2 will work) and configure it to not autoupdate. There is a Mac version here:
At that point I'd try to diagnose the performance problem (before proceeding further).
After you've done that you can upgrade to 4.2.31 firmware and then install an add-on:
Note there is no UI for this, so it won't show up on the add-ons page after the install.
Note you could also convert your Pro 6 to run OS-6 firmware. That process would require you to do a factory reset.

when i try to copy files from macbook pro to readynas it says going to take 5 hours to copy 25Gb....
Despite the info from RAIDar, it could be a failing disk. I suggest downloading the log zip file after you regain access to the NAS web ui, and then look at the smart stats, and also look for errors in system.log and kernel.log.

Thanks Stephen
downloaded Firefox and logged into admin page - all good and dont see any network settings that are incorrect or any errors.
but my copy time for 25 Gb is still around 5 hours - dosent seem right?
I noticed under nertwork standard settings
speed is on auto negotiate
ip address is fixed
I have no routes listed in routing table

Did you download the full log zip file as I suggested?
I am thinking there are disk problems (despite the summary status you are seeing in RAIDar and Frontview). SMART stats are in disk_smart.log, other errors would be in system.log and kernel.log

FWIW, this does depend on what you are copying. A folder full of small files will take a lot longer than a 25 GB file.
Also,is this just an estimated time, or did you actually let it finish?

i looked at the logs under status logs there was no option to download - i saw no errors
where do I find system.log and kernel.log when accessing admin page at https://192.168.1.21?
i cant get RaidAR to work - when i click on admin page from RaidAR screen I just get a blank screen showing ready nas'
dir copied has lots of 30Mb files - 13Gb took 5 mins just now so that seems ok..
thanks
