Hello lundmilo,

Probably the firmware 6.7.3 is not yet on the update server. You may need to manually update the firmware.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies howvever the isssue is the error message " Antivirus scanner definition file update failed due to download failure" NOT the ability to download a particular Firmware update!

The unit is also cold booted very morning.

Newer Firmware updates do NOT mention this issue in their notes and/or fixes.

I would be grateful for any sugestions, solutions or workarounds to resolve this "Antivirus scanner definition file update failed due to download failure" issue?

Hello binaryboy,

The update server included the new FW already. Can you check if your NAS will see that and if it does, update the firmware?

    Netgear changed their AV provider in January (when they released 6.6.1).
    
    I suspect your issue is happening because you are using 6.6.0, which will attempt to get updates from their old provider.
    
    Hence, the recommendation to update your firmware to the current version.
