Anyone using HGST 6TB HDDs in their ReadyNAS?
Wondering if anyone's using the HGST 6TB Deskstar NAS HDD (model H3IKNAS600012872SN) in their ReadyNAS — and more specifically, a 314? These run faster (7200 vs. 5400), have a higher cache (128MB...

Just as an update to anyone reading this thread with the same question: I've since installed two of these HGST 6TB drives in my 314.
They're a little bit louder (writing during Time Machine backups, for example, is pretty audible) and they run a few degrees hotter than than WD 4TB Reds I also have in there (113°C for the HGST versus 107°C for the WD Reds).
But all in all I'm pleased with them and will probably replace the WD Reds in my 314 with them in the future. It might be pure fantasy, but I feel like the HGST's 7200rpm and larger buffer make a difference in day-to-day read/write speeds, especially when, say, watching high-quality HD movies via Plex.

I am writing about the 4TB HGST Deskstar NAS 7200RPM SATA III 3.5" High-Performance Hard Drive (H3IKNAS40003272SN). I found some other closed stings, one without a reply. I have a ReadyNAS RNDP6350 that is certified for the WD Red 4TB, a Seagate (I am avoiding), and a Hitachi, probably when they were Hitachi. The model listed is not the same as the above model. The one listed above has RVS which the Hitachi in the compatibility chart didn't. I also know when getting support here, "6TB or larger" was used in conversation implying 6TB and larger drives have been used in my Pro Biz?
The above drive is on sale NOW, so I am trying to get clarification....
Thanks for letting me crash the thread!
