Billion 7800VDPX & ReadyNAS Duo connectivity issues
Last week I setup my new Billion 7800VDPX – everything works as it should except being able to connect to the Netgear ReadyNAS Duo.
When I connect it all up and launch the RAIDar app it does not find the NAS. I did a factory reset of the 7800VDPX to make sure, and it made no improvement.
Previously I had the Old iiNet branded Belkin modem/router (f1pi241egau) and it worked out of the box fine.
So obviously there is some setting within the 7800VDPX (or even the NAS) that I need to set. Please help.
This is the network setting on my ReadyNAS:

If you have any ideas please let me know.. :?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced User(a) is the new router still using 10.1.1.x IP addresses, or it is using something else?
(b) Is the gateway address assigned to the duo the internal IP address of the router (frontview, network->global interfaces)?
(c) can you ping the NAS?
(d) can you reach the NAS directly by entering https://10.1.1.5/admin in to your browser window? - PetarcAspiranta) It uses the default billion one: 192.168.1.254
b) I'll have to plug the old modem in to check this..
c) no
d) no
Do you think I should just set the readynas to obtain ip automatically? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserOk. If the billion is using 192.168.1.x addresses, then you can't use 10.1.1.5 with the NAS. It needs to be 192.168.1.x.
If you do an OS reinstall from the duo front panel (being careful not to do a factory reset!) it will change the IP to use DHCP (get it automatically). It will also change the admin password back to netgear1.
Alternatively reinstall the old modem briefly restart your PC, and then reconfigure the duo to use DHCP using frontview. Then put the new modem in place again.
If the billion allows you to reserve IP addresses, then that is a better way to get a stable IP address than manually assignment in the duo. Basically, the duo gets the address automatically, but the router always assigns the same one. That avoids this kind of problem. - PetarcAspirantThank you Stephen, I think you've nailed it.. Much appreciated :)
