Can I put my ReadyNAS hard drive into a D Link NAS?
Basically my readynas died and I want to get access to my files. My wife has a D Link nas at work, can i pop my hard drive in and access it?
I've read that they use the same filesystem but will the readnas' 16kb block size stop me?
Thanks Andy.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe drive won't be able to be read and you'd risk the disk being wiped. Don't do it.
The ReadyNAS Duo has a 3 year warranty. I'd suggest giving NetGear support a call.
If all else fails you can try recovering data using a PC: Mounting Sparc-based ReadyNAS Drives in x86-based Linux - GhostfaceAspirantWell in the comments of that article someone linked to a prorgam tha tworked.Called R-linux,pluged in the hdd to my pc and it recovered everything with file names and folder structure.
Thanks
