Cannot access share on ReadyNAS Duo
Hi,
I have a ReadyNAS Duo which has a few shares that run with "Allow guest access". Now i want to have a share that is protected and only accessable by my PC (Windows 10) but i cannot access the share. I'm always asked for credentials and either the admin nor a nas user's credentials work.
What I did so far:
-) created a new share called "testShare"
-) Default access is set to Read/write
-) "Hosts allowed access:" is set to the IP adress of my computer
What am I doing wrong, or what is missing?
Thanks for your help
Chris

Hi chrisqn,
Try the steps below:
1. Create a specific user login under 'Security tab'.
2. Change the default access of the said share from Read/Write to 'Disabled'.
3. Tick write-enabled users and enter your user login then hit apply.
Hope this helps!

Hi BrianL,
thank you for your help. I tried the steps you posted many times before I posted my question but it never worked. After I got your answer I tried it again an it still did not work. In a different post I read that it could be a problem if network drives are mapped to the ReadyNAS Share so i deleted all my network drives on the computer and voilà it worked. Dont know why network shares should be a problem but it seams to be the solution for my problem.
best regards,
Chris
