Hello sd1066,
First, the NAS should be connected a network where your laptop is, so make sure the laptop is connected to the same router where the NAS is. If you have RAIDar, run it, it should show you the NAS' LAN IP address. If it does not see the NAS then it will not show any. Please check LED activity on the NAS.
Is the laptop wireless, by the way?

Hi,
Yes the laptop is connected to the same network wirelessly, should this matter?
I was connected with the nas last weekend through the same network, this week the nas isnt connected to the network or can't be found using RAIDar?
Thanks

Hello sd1066,
Wireless should still work, however, when troubleshooting, it is still best not to be wireless. Part of it is isolate the problem first. Try connecting a computer (or the laptop) to the router or switch where the NAS is via LAN cable. To make sure wired connection is working, check the local are connection IP address or disable the wireless part of the laptop and check if Internet works. You may also check the LED on the LAN port of the router or the switch where the NAS is connected as well the the LAN port for the computer, both should be illuminated.
If the computer still does not see the NAS, connect the NAS straight to the computer. RAIDar should still see the NAS even when it is connected directly to the computer, showing its default IP address.
