Which firmware did you use when doing the USB Boot Recovery?
Perhaps you could try doing it with 6.2.5

Hi mdgm, thanks for the quick reply!
this is what i done:
format usb with single partition fat32
copied initrd-recovery.gz and NTGR_USBBOOT_INFO.txt and the ulmage-recovery from the rn102 folder to root of usb drive
copied ReadyNASOS-6.2.5-arm.img to root usb drive
plug in usb in front and hold down backup and plug in the unit
after a couple of tries it finally worked this time, looks like it took the firmware and then it shut down.
I powered on but still can't find it in RAIDar and checking on router i don't see a dhcp lease for the unit.
Do i need to put it in OS reinstall now or ?

Do you have any data on the unit yet?

just have two drives in it and they are empty.

In that case maybe try a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) then update to 6.5.2 using this workaround and then update to 6.6.0.
