Can't connect to the Frontview of a Readynas Ultra 4
My Readynas lost a drive a while back so I'm trying to not boot it up too often until I have a replacement drive. The firmware is possibly the latest version and I don't want to check again until I have a new drive. I've tried:
- Using different cables
- Connecting via a router as well as directly
- Raidar sees the device and I've used the Readynas IP in several browser
- Disabling my firewall
- Disabling my VPN
Different browsers give different errors. Chrome says ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. I'm never able to reach the login page. On my windows machine on the network page the Readynas is listed as a media device but not as computer so I can browse my files.
Hope you can help me solve my problem.

Are you running 4.2.x firmware or have you converted the NAS to OS-6?
FWIW, RAIDar should be telling you the firmware. Current versions are
- 4.2.31
- 6.10.8 (if you converted).

If you are using 4.2.x firmware, have you checked that the PC has the SMB 1/CIFS client enabled? Do this by going into "turn windows features on or off".
Does entering \\nas-ip-address in the File Explorer Address bar give you access from Explorer? (using the real NAS IP address of course).

Thanks for the reply. Booted it up again (didn't want to because it's missing a drive) and according to Raidar it's running 4.2.31. I had already enabled the SMB 1/CIFS client before (forgot to mention) but it turns out I forgot to reboot because I was doing other stuff on my PC. After rebooting the PC the Readynas does show up as a computer on the network page and I even played a video file.
So the only remaining two problems are that I have to get a new disk and that I'm not able to connect to Frontview. Should I try a USB Boot Recovery already? I don't want to unless it's really necessary.

Have you resolved the SSL protocol issue with 4.2.x firmware already? If not, is that one of the frontview errors you are seeing?
