Can Seagate NAS HHD 4TB hard drives that were in a ReadyNAS 316 be used in a ReadyNAS 104 4-bay Diskless or a ReadyNAS 314 4-bay Diskless? Does it matter what order they were in? They were mixed up. ...

He's doing a direct connect, so he will able to reach the GUI and the shares even though the subnet masks don't match - as long as he is using a 192.168.168.x address in his PC. Both the NAS and the PC understand that this address range is local, so they do not attempt to direct it to a gateway (which doesn't exist).

RAIDar discovery fails because the NAS and the PC compute different IP broadcast addresses, so they don't see each other's broadcast discovery requests. The NAS will compute 192.168.255.255 and the PC will compute 192.168.168.255.
