Corrupt Root ReadyNAS Duo V2 WITH DATA ON IT
Hi.
i tried to find the answer i the forums.
I have "corrupt root" on my readynasduov2 AND i have data on it and i would like to access to them,
Is it possible for me to do something?
i did a OS reinstall from boot menu, but still the same.
Please help.
I temporarly backed my computer with all my pics to readynas so i could erase my computer.
Any suggestion?

One option is to contact Netgear support (via my.netgear.com) - ask about "per incident" support. You don't want the "gearhead" stuff. Depending on what is wrong, you might need data recovery (which is expensive).
If you want to try to recover data yourself, it would be helpful to verify the model - many v1 owners mistakenly believe they have a v2 (the labels are confusing). Can you read this guide, and then confirm which NAS you have? http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/
It would also be helpful to know the disk configuration that you have - default XRAID (if so, 1 disk or two?) or flexraid (what disks and what raid mode).

I did contact them and they told me to first try find help here.
i have: rnd2000v2 ARM processor.
i did have a support time age for another issue and they told me the model was as above.
So what can i do?
BTW, thank you

It is a v2 with an expired warranty.
One possibility would be a full 4GB root volume, there are others.
Since you have irreplaceable photos on the NAS that are not stored on any other device you may wish to purchase a support contract.
