Discspace 738 Gb instead of 6 TB?
Hello,
I have bought a brand new ReadyNas Duo RND2000 v2. With my NAS I bought 2 x 3 TB WD30EZRX Discs which are listed under the Hardware Compatibility List (http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=82).
I have already tried evereything under the sun to get my NAS up and running. Without success. If I put in my disks they are both discovered as 738 GB Discs... The firmware is the most recent (At least my NAS tells me so). I would be glad if someone could lead me in the right direction. I already tried to partition them with GParted either with Ext3 or Ext4. With no success...

- What firmware are you running on the DUO?
- harioAspirantRAIDiator 4.1.8 [1.00a043]
- harioAspirantI just saw in the release notes for this firmware:
2. Drives greater than 2TB are not supported.
So why the hell are my discs in the HCL? Really confusing ... - sphardy1ApprenticeBecause there are 2 versions of the Duo - The Original Duo and the Duo v2.
You apparently have bought the original Duo (irrespective of any labels that you might have) which doesn't support drives >2TB, whereas the Duo v2 does support >2TB drives and therefore you must be looking at the wrong information on the HCL - harioAspirantThanks for your reply. Is there any way I can make sure it's the old ReadyNas? Because If it is the old one i will return it to the shop i bought it from.
- sphardy1ApprenticeYou are running 4.1.x firmware which is only compatible with the original Duo so guarantees that is what you have
- PapaBear1ApprenticePlus on the front panel in the lower right it says ReadyNAS Duo. Whereas on the v2, it will say ReandyNAS Duo v2.
- sphardy1ApprenticeAre you sure? Mine doesn't
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes. Beta units like ours don't but production units do. You can also see it in the manual and the product images.
