External Drive is now Write-Protected
My external drive does not allow me to write or delete files to that drive.
ultra4plus NetGear RNDP400U - Netgear UltraNas 4 Plus with Firmware 6.10.3 running backup and find the external HD that I use for backup is now write-protected and I am unable to add or delete files.
How do I set it so I can manage this drive.
That usually is the result of the disk being removed w/o being ejected - or if the system loses power or suffers an unclean shutdown.
If you are using a format that Windows recognizes, then the easiest "fix" is to connect the disk to a Windows PC and let it "repair" it. I don't know of any other easy solution (other than reformat the drive).
