This is a procedure for Sparc e.g. Duo/NV+ (v1).
I don't recommend relying on this. If you have problems it's better to contact support. They may be able to remote into your system and fix a problem (if that's needed) though there may be a fee attached to this.
Also make sure you have a backup. Recovering data using a PC really is a last resort.
